因其牵引链采取模锻链成型链板，承载与牵引分开的结构，所以其具有强度高、使用寿命长、受力合理、运行平稳等优点。而且SCD型熟料槽式输送机工艺布置灵活，对安装位置的要求没有过多的限制，可以水平布置也可以倾斜布置，或者水平倾斜混合布置。其驱动装置采取背负式结构安装，起到了占地空间小，安装检修方便的作用。
